COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Service Beyond the Badge
Community involvement has been part of my law enforcement career from the beginning.
As a member of the Centralia Police Officers’ Association, I participated in fundraising and community programs supporting Shop with a Cop/Night Out with Santa, student scholarships, and Special Olympics.

Connecting with the Community
During my years as a K9 handler with Bak, I had countless opportunities to visit schools, attend community events, speak with civic and service organizations, and introduce young people to law enforcement in a positive setting.
In 2008, Bak and I were honored to serve as Grand Marshals of Centralia’s Fourth of July Summerfest Parade.
Later, while serving with the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET), my work offered fewer opportunities for day-to-day public interaction, but I continued providing presentations and training to schools and community groups interested in learning about the team’s work.
Continuing to Serve
My involvement in the community has continued outside of my professional duties through teen mentoring, the Faith Baptist Church youth program, church security, and volunteering alongside my family.
